You Can Do Hard Things!

 This girl...

She has been experiencing some drastic physical setbacks this cross country season that have often left her feeling frustrated, discouraged and wondering why she even likes to run. At times I thought she would hand in her uniform and try again next year. But she stuck with it...she persevered and hung in there (by a thread at times) enduring pain, heartache and disappointment. She surprised me in her dedication to work through the physical issues and to adopt a new mindset about her running performance. Yesterday in their regional meet she surprised herself with a new PR!!!

I am so proud of this girl!!! She has learned how to listen to her body and to be kind to herself. She has learned that life can be so very hard. She has learned how to face the hard things. And how to come out better on the other side. A life lesson I hope she never forgets!
Way to go Rachel!!!!

Sorry this comment has come so late. I just haven't read your blog is such a long time. I love this granddaughter so much. She indeed is an inspiration to not give up. Sometimes I feel like taking the easy road, and then I will remember this and be inspired to just keep going and doing the hard things. Thank you Rachel. Grandma Sue
