Playtime at Grandma Sue's

With Christmas only days away I think it only appropriate that I finally make mention of the particulars of our summer vacation in to Utah...so here goes...

In late spring/early summer Grandpa Steve underwent colon cancer surgery. I told Paul I had a "wild hair brained idea"...for us to go to Grantsville & finish up my mom & Steve's home remodeling project. Steve had diligently been working on a bathroom addition & bedroom remodeling project despite his health declining. The compassionate side of my heart wanted to repay my mom & Steve for all of the kindness they have showed us over the years...of my mom willingly coming to help us out when we had a new baby in the house, coming to help when Paul would be out of town for an extended period of time and of my mom coming to watch kiddos for several days so Paul & I could go house hunting or have a quick weekend away.

Paul worked hard finishing drywall (with the help of Chris), hanging doors, installing trim, closet organizers & painting the bedroom (with a little help from me) while Grandma (with help from me) entertained the kiddos.

On the agenda was craft projects, tea parties, a field trip to the fairy forest, a trip to the movies & an amazing afternoon playing with water balloons and the hose in the backyard.

Thank you Grandma Sue for allowing us to show our love to you through a big act of service & for allowing the kiddos to make wonderful memories playing with you!

What a wonderful memory and gift that your whole family gave us. Finishing the bedroom-bathroom, we love it, and it might have never been finished without your help. A real bonus for me was time spent with my grandchildren. /thanks from the bottom of my heart. Mom
