Cross Country 2016

Elizabeth & Rachel love to run!! This love in not inherited or even introduced by their parents. This love has come naturally all on its own.  Because of this love I was blessed to attend more cross country meets and learn more about running that I ever imagined possible. And guess what?? I have developed a love for cross county...as a spectator of course!

This was Elizabeth's first year on the high school cross country team, running 3.1 miles at each race and many more each week at practice.

I loved watching her put her heart into something and it was wonderful to see her progress as the season went on.

Her team has a fabulous tradition...before each race whomever is competing in that race huddles up and they offer a prayer. Elizabeth commented throughout the season how this helped her to not feel so nervous before each race.

I love that a group of high school kids from all walks of life and all religious backgrounds come together in unity at the start of each race to draw down the powers of heaven.

This was Rachel's first year to run on the middle school cross country team, running 1.5 miles at each race.

I convinced her to join the cross country team by telling her that it would be a great way to get in shape for track season. She willingly went to her first day of practice but was very nervous to have to run 1.5 for the meets.

She really is a sprinter at heart but she did very well throughout the season, finishing 4th for 7th grade girls in her final race of the season.

These two girls of mine have always had a special bond as sisters, best friends and now running buddies. . .
