Cove Fort

As many times as we have driven up and down 1-15 driving to and from our visits with family we have always been in a bit of a hurry or had sleeping children so we never took the opportunity to visit Cove Fort, a Mormon Pioneer historic site in southern Utah.

Thankfully this trip we were not in a hurry and no one was sleeping so I convinced Paul to stop and allow us to experience a little history lesson & have our faith strengthen as we learned about the function and events of Cove Fort.

While most of us found the tour very interesting and educational we had a couple boys with us who would have preferred to run around and play.

Whenever I learn about pioneer life it always sounds so magical and wonderful but then the reality of hard work, lack of electricity & indoor plumbing settles on my mind and I am so grateful to be born in the era I did but ever so grateful for the sacrifices made by those that came before.
