Rust, Dust & Hope

On the way home from the Lava River Cave we took the road less traveled . . . Route 66!

It was a little more curvy, a slower speed, and definitely less traveled but it made for some great photo opts as we stopped in Seligman and Hackberry.

Glad we took the time to stop and see the memorabilia from days gone by.

But by far my favorite was this giant flag painted on the side of a building in Seligman.

A beautiful display reminding me of the history of America and of the many freedoms I enjoy thanks to the many men and women who have sacrificed so much over the last several hundred years.

With my kiddos in front of this giant flag my thoughts turn to the future . . . the American flag is a great symbol of hope . . . hope that good will prevail and the guiding hand of the Lord will protect this promised land.
