The Season of Eggs!

My very favorite part of Easter are the eggs. Not so much the eating of hard boiled eggs or even the dyeing of said hard boiled eggs but all the fun you can have with eggs!

Last year I picked up 5 paper eggs on clearance that I thought would be useful for when one of the kiddos asked, "can we do a craft?"

Spring break proved to be just the time to appreciate the usefulness of these eggs. Each of the kiddos got to paint/decorate their egg to their liking. Then I got to enjoy them as decorations for the remainder of the Easter season.

Of course the Easter Egg hunt is my all time favorite thing to do with eggs this time of year. Over the years we have learned a thing or two about Easter Egg hunts. **The plastic eggs acts like a little ovens for the chocolate treat waiting inside, thus by the time the hunter finds & opens the eggs the treat resembles chocolate syrup.

To combat this problem we did our hunt good & early before the sun had much time to cook the eggs hidden in the back yard.

Paul thought it would be great to hide ALL of the plastic eggs that we own this year . . . so those poor kiddos had to wait extra long while the eggs were being hidden.

The blessing of which proved to be that their baskets runneth over with goodness. No one complained about that.

They each enjoyed a hearty serving of peeps . . .

. . . and other assorted Easter candy.

They were each happy to do a "candy swap" so they could get chocolate from John (John is on a chocolate free diet. Thorough observation & an unsophisticated experiment we have noticed that chocolate caused the wires in his brain to come unplugged) & get rid of the candy they don't like so much.

Amidst all of the egg cracking & candy swapping they found a clue, that led to another clue, that lead to another clue, that led to another clue and so on until they finally located their Easter baskets where they could receive their prized golden bunny!

Happy Eggster!
