Home Makeover: Carpet

One of the "To-Do" projects when we bought our house almost 5 years ago was new carpet. We decided we should paint first. Then we decided we should landscape the backyard first. All this time the carpet has only became more worn. The "want" was becoming a "need".  Spurred on by another home project (the girls' bunk bed) we decided it was time!
 
 
Moving ALL the furniture off the carpet & out of the way was a very large undertaking. (Yes, we decided to re-carpet the whole house at one time).
 

But it was all worth it because we love the new carpet!!! It is so soft & gives a whole new feel for the home.


Sorry, it has been over a month & I still haven't taken a picture of the new carpet in the main living areas . . . my excuse . . . the room hasn't been clean enough for a picture as it is regularly covered in toys.

I joked one day to Paul that some couples go on cruises or other exotic vacations to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary, not us. . . we get new carpet!

  Grateful for milestones that bring family together...Last Saturday my brothers and I gathered to celebrate our Dad's 80th birthday!!! After 80 years on earth my Dad's body continues to be strong (mostly) while his memory continues to fade. For a man who is a planner and organizer he struggles to live in the moment and be content...I guess when you don't have current memories to reflect on, you dream and imagine your future. Inspite of his current reality we enjoyed a few hours celebrating together, laughing, sharing and watching him relive his glory days with near clarity. 80 Years Loved

  There are moments in life when you realize just how blessed you are... celebrating my mom's 80th birthday recently was one of those moments!! Over the years we have moved away from one another, haven't always stayed in close contact with everyone but being together I felt the love that comes from being family! To my mom family is everything and it is her love for us individually that radiates and unites those around her! My mom is a little energizer bunny sharing, serving, living, loving, experiencing, adventureing and enjoying every moment of every day! She definitely is not 80 years old but 80 years loved!!! And on her way to many more!! From three awesome Andruski kids... ...to this beautiful bunch... ... combined 17 years ago with the Browns makes for a wonderful group of great people to love one special lady!   Feeling all the feels today as we send Rachel on her way to serve the Lord as one of His full-time missionaries for the next 18 months, sharing His love and the message of His restored gospel to the people in the Ohio Columbus Mission!!!
