Pioneer Woman
Over the summer we experienced a small but rather uncomfortable & inconvenient tragedy at our house . . .
A few weeks before Girl's Camp & at almost the end of a weeks worth of laundry (around 10 loads) our beloved dryer died! It would tumble, but there was no heat.
We were not ready to replace such a dear family friend just yet (wanted to save up a bit more money first), so Paul did what he does best & searched Youtube for a video on how to fix a broken dryer. He replaced the burnt out heating element (only $50) & we were good to go. He had resurrected the dryer . . . so we thought.
About half way through the next weeks mounds of laundry the dryer died again; no heat, no tumbling, just the friendly light turning on when you opened the door. Paul was done playing Mr. Fix-it & we began scouring the internet to decide on the purchase of a new dryer (& washer, because they are a set you know). During the decision making process & while we waited the week or so for the new one to arrive I devised a way to dry our clothes; yes I could have gone to the laundry mat or taken my wet laundry to a friends house, but where is the fun in that?
Instead I created my very own indoor clothesline!
Thankfully it was summer & even with the AC running the clothes dried quickly, a little crunchy but quickly.
It made me realize that I DO know how to be resourceful & creative! And just MAYBE I would have made a decent pioneer woman, although we don't NEED to find out.
By the way: I love my new large capacity, energy efficient washer & dryer. I have cut the number of loads of laundry in almost in half. I not longer feel like all I do is laundry,;I now have time to be lazy, ignore my kiddos & waste time on the internet. HaHaHa!!!
