Strong Family Vacation 2015: Jenny's Canyon

Before calling it a day I drug some willing participants on another little expiation . . .exploring a slot canyon.

It was fabulous. The hike was short! And once we reached the canyon the temperature dropped dramatically!

The formations & colors within the canyon were amazing.

There were all sorts of nooks and crannies for the kiddos to climb on, climb in & explore.

It was a beautiful example of "nature's playground"

For those who weren't so into climbing there was also some amazingly soft sand to play in.

Definitely a place I would like to return to. I shouldn't have too much complaining because all the kiddos had a good time too!

The trail to the canyon crossed a dry river bed with sand that was calling to a few lucky kiddos.

On the way back I promised we could stop & let them play for a bit.

Next time when it isn't so hot, I believe I will take my sand lovers to the sand dunes (just across) the road from this hike). They would love it!

reminds me of when we went to Arches and played in the sand in the shade under the arches. Fun
