It's Time to for a Few Thankful Moments . . .
Life with a two year old in the house can be . . . well . . . eventful . . . to say the least. Over the last several months there have been many moments where I think to myself, "it's a good thing you are so cute" intermixed with several sweet tender moments when my heart is filled with love and gratitude for my sweet little Jacob.
Not too long ago I was surprised as I was overcome with intense gratitude as I watched him play with cars on John's car mat.
When we got the car mat for John we had to work SO hard, hand over hand, teaching him how to roll the cars along the roads, that I was in shock one day when Jacob picked up a car without any assistance and was driving his little car all over the city & ON the roads, even stopping at the stop signs! My heart was so full of gratitude at that moment for a healthy, typical little boy that it overflowed with tears running down my cheeks. (I was glad no one was home to see me crying while I watched Jacob play). As I walked into the bathroom to discover that Jacob had unwound a whole roll of toilet paper & was proceeding to put it in the toilet I learned in a real way that Heavenly Father really can intervene and bless a momma with a spirit of patience amid the challenges of 2 year old mischief.
How could I be upset with those big brown eyes looking up at me?
I am always amazed when kiddos choose to do kind things without promptings from an adult . . .even if the recipient is a dinosaur.
Jacob sweetly shared his brownie with his buddy, T-rex, when we sat down for a snack.
So thankful to still have a baby in the house!
As long as he sleeps with his legs tucked under him, his little bum in the air while sucking on a binki, I will refer to him as the baby.
You just gotta love an independent and determined little guy.
At least once a day this is how I find Jacob . . . sitting on the table eating yogurt with a serving spoon that he retrieved & opened all by himself.
I LOVE that he LOVES to take naps!
Even if he gets confused as to which one is the blanket & which one is the pillow.
I am thankful that Heavenly Father blessed two year olds with the ability to giggle!
Otherwise when I walked into the bathroom to find water EVERYWHERE, the furry of the wicked witch just may have come flying through on a broomstick. Laughter really is the best medicine.
There are so many thankful moments to be found, when I stop, slowdown & enjoy the journey I am on.
