She Loves to Run

As a parent it is always enjoyable to watch one of my kiddos participate in an activity that I love; we can share a common interest. But I learned this spring that it is just as enjoyable to watch one of my kiddos enjoy an activity that I do not enjoy. . . RUNNING!
 

Elizabeth was on her middle school track team. She has wanted so badly to be a part of something, to participate in a sport that she would enjoy . . . I think she found her niche.


 Amazingly she was much happier coming home from a long day at school after she had been to track practice . . . running for 2 hours.
 

After competing in the 200, 400, 800 & 4x100 relay the first track meet she discovered that she prefers long distances, competing in the 800, 1200, 1600 & 4x100 relay by the end of the season.

 
The meets were long & often hot but so worth while to see Elizabeth out doing something that she enjoyed! Way to go Elizabeth, can't wait for next year.

  Grateful for milestones that bring family together...Last Saturday my brothers and I gathered to celebrate our Dad's 80th birthday!!! After 80 years on earth my Dad's body continues to be strong (mostly) while his memory continues to fade. For a man who is a planner and organizer he struggles to live in the moment and be content...I guess when you don't have current memories to reflect on, you dream and imagine your future. Inspite of his current reality we enjoyed a few hours celebrating together, laughing, sharing and watching him relive his glory days with near clarity. Watching him watch himself play football and talk and share about the players and the plays brought out part of my Dad that has been hidden for years!

80 Years Loved

  There are moments in life when you realize just how blessed you are... celebrating my mom's 80th birthday recently was one of those moments!! Over the years we have moved away from one another, haven't always stayed in close contact with everyone but being together I felt the love that comes from being family! To my mom family is everything and it is her love for us individually that radiates and unites those around her! My mom is a little energizer bunny sharing, serving, living, loving, experiencing, adventureing and enjoying every moment of every day! She definitely is not 80 years old but 80 years loved!!! And on her way to many more!! From three awesome Andruski kids... ...to this beautiful bunch... ... combined 17 years ago with the Browns makes for a wonderful group of great people to love one special lady!   Feeling all the feels today as we send Rachel on her way to serve the Lord as one of His full-time missionaries for the next 18 months, sharing His love and the message of His restored gospel to the people in the Ohio Columbus Mission!!!
