End of the Year Activities
The last couple weeks of school are always busy & usually fun, this year was no exception.
Crazy Hair Day
Yes, pig tails are "crazy" for Rachel. I had to bribe her to deviate from the pony tail she has worn everyday for the whole school year.Jacob even got in on the "crazy hair day" action thanks to Elizabeth.
Awards Ceremonies
I am horrible at remembering to take my camera to the award ceremonies that occur each quarter. I believe this is the first time in 8 years that I remembered. This time around Elizabeth received Principal's list for having a 4.0 for the 4th quarter. Not shown are Rachel receiving Principal's list for all A's in the 4th quarter & Young Author's Award, John receiving the Life Skills-Personal Best award, and Sarah receiving Young Author's, Super Speller & Perfect Attendance for the 4th quarter. Way to go kiddos!
5th Grade Promotion
Rachel and her best friend Kayla (who will be moving). Hard to believe I have one more headed to Middle School.
A Special Thank You!
My heart is always a little tender & eyes a little teary watching all the kids leave school the last day of school. I am always glad I have my sun glasses on because I feel a little foolish. I am not feeling sad that school is over but rather grateful for the sacrifice and hard work the teachers willing perform in behalf of my kiddos & all the kiddos.
This year was a little extra tender as we said good-bye to Mrs. Pottenburgh (AKA Miss Wascher) for her hard work with John over the last four years as his Special Education teacher. She has patiently and lovingly worked with him from the first day of Kindergarten, were I wondered if school would ever be John's friend, to his last day of second grade where we have seen him progress by leaps and bounds. She kindly welcomed him to her classroom extra time during the day when we were struggling to find a one-on-one assistant during 1st grade. She has been the one constant in his elementary school education thus far. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!Thank you to Ms. Carolyn, for accepting the responsibility to be John's new one-on-one assistant this year. We are so lucky to have her! With her help John has been able to focus more at school & make great progress academically. Thanks to her, meltdowns are no longer a regular occurrence for John. We hope she will be with John a long time!
Dance Recital
Sarah's dance teacher returned from college & offered 5 week dance session before school ended. Sarah enjoyed dance with Miss Camilla so much; is it because she loves dance or because Miss Camilla is so fabulous?
Now on to Summer!!!!
