Not So Little Anymore . . .

Many times over the years I have received the following unsolicited parenting advice from friends & strangers, "Enjoy them while they are young, they grow up so fast." Generally I have always allowed the advice to go in one ear & out the other. Yet, recently I have come to realize just how true this advice is . . .

. . . as my spunky blue eyed baby girl turned 7!!!

What????
Where has the time gone?

And to prove to Mom just how "grown-up" she is, she wanted desperately to get her ears pierced for her birthday.

 She was so brave!

Sarah requested that her sisters join her for the big event; The first, of I hope many, "girls night out" complete with a visit to the shoe store and Bath & Body Works. I had to remind myself we weren't in a hurry and to let the girls have fun (so long as they don't embarrass Mom too bad).  They enjoyed ogling over jewelry, loved trying on the high heels & indulged themselves in smelling every little bottle of hand sanitizer in the store. It was a fun & silly evening. A birthday celebration & any "girls night out" would not be complete without a yummy sweet treat. . . FRO-YO here we come!!!

Happy Birthday Sarah . . .

. . . you are growing up way too fast,
but you will always be my blue eyed baby girl!

You are so right, this will never be the last of your nights out with the girls. You are starting traditions that will never end.
