Christmas Morning

I should have known when the kiddos went to bed so well on Christmas Eve that I was in for trouble . . . apparently they were so excited for Christmas morning that 2 out of the 4 that were awake came into my bedroom at 2:30am to see about opening presents.  When I explained that they needed to go back to bed, the response from Sarah was enough to make me turn into the Grnich, " Whyyyyyyyy? Santa already came!"  Because it is 2 in the morning, duh!  I told them to go back to bed only to have them come back at around 4am.  This time I heard the four kiddos awake. Paul told them to go wait in their rooms until at least 5am.  At about 4:45am we realized we were getting no sleep because the kiddos were being so loud and getting louder and more wound up the longer they waited, so we decided to get out of bed and let the festivities begin!

The four older kids tore through the presents in their stocking in record time this year. We had to wake Jacob up around 5:30 am so he wouldn't miss out on all the fun.

Christmas morning in not complete without John collecting the precious wrapping paper.

Sarah realized just how fun the paper can be as she made a "paper angel" in the middle of the floor.

The family's Christmas present was delivered a few weeks ago by elves driving a cement truck, wearing rubber boots and carrying concrete floats.

Christmas gifts this year came in the form of a basketball court!

The kiddos have been enjoying it for a few weeks now, but were excited Christmas morning to have Santa leave them each their very own basketball. After a day of playing with multiple balls we realized we are in serious need of some vegetation in the landscaping strategically placed to help keep the balls from bouncing over the retaining wall.

Thank You Santa!
