I Am Blessed
Have I ever mentioned how incredibly talented my husband is? He is modest and will tell you that it is just something that he enjoys, but I venture to say it is more than a casual hobby, but he has been blessed with a gift. A gift to turn something ordinary into something beautiful and extraordinary.
I have readily supported him in his latest endeavor of spending his nights in the garage playing with power tools & killing a few brain cells with lacquer fumes. I pity the guy & wonder what the neighbors are thinking as he works away in the moon light out on the driveway to avoid covering the contents of the garage with a layer of fine sawdust. He has been hard at work to build a new TV stand & refinishing an old desk.
The TV stand is somewhat of a masterpiece as it is made entirely of discarded cabinet doors he acquired from work. He did not purchase a single piece of wood for this project, but adapted his Lego building mind to cut & piece together doors to create this beauty!
I so wish I had remembered to take a "before" picture of the old desk. A friend was wanting to find a new home for the desk when they moved to a smaller house. Imagine a desk that would have been built in a high school shop class back in the '60's, reddish stain with wooden drawer pulls. It had plenty on nicks and dings from years of love and use. When I saw it, I knew Paul could work magic with it . . .
