He Loves . . .

Jacob is beginning to develop a short list of things that he loves. The kind of things that keep his attention longer than a minute. The kind of things that when they are mentioned his little face lights up.  And the kind of things that ignite his little feet with a happy dance.

Jacob loves bugs!

On this particular day he was in love with a grasshopper.

I think he found a geriatric grasshopper because he caught it all by himself.

Jacob is in love with just about anything that crawls on four legs!
Last week it was a desert tortoise.

Our neighbors stopped by one morning to ask up if we lost a pet turtle . . .uh, no.  They had found one wandering in the driveway next door.  Jacob and I went to "play" with it.  I decided to bring it to our backyard to play.  It would follow Jacob all around the backyard.  He would walk along and turn around every so often to be sure the tortoise was still following . . . so cute! As a side note: I was willing to keep it a couple days until we found it a good home, but when Sarah got home from school she knew who it belonged to.  Sure enough their gate was left open and their pet tortoise escaped.  When they came to get it that evening Jacob was confused and sad to see his new little buddy leave.

I wonder what creepy crawler will he fall in love with next?

He is so darn cute. Not the turtle, Jacob, although it was pretty awesome. It is so amazing to see things through the eyes of a child. No comments about the geriatric grasshopper. yep, I am pretty easy to catch these days.
