Summer Wish LIst
At the start of the summer I had each of the kids make a wish list of the things that they wanted to do this summer. Things included:
go swimming
go to the library
go bowling
invite friends over to play
stay up 'til midnight
have a sleepover with a friend
With summer almost at an end we still had a couple of things we needed to do.
#1 - go camping
We didn't seem to have a weekend available for a full fledged camping trip, so we opted for camping in the back yard. The kids were just as excited, but when it came time to set up the tent there was a storm brewing. So, we convinced Paul that we should camp in the house.
Thank goodness for a large living room & vaulted ceilings, because we have a BIG tent. Bigger than I had remembered. The kids thought this was so fun; a tent in the living room. The best part is the kids decided there wasn't room for Mom & Dad in the tent, so I got to sleep in my bed!
#2 - left on the wish list was make rock candy
Cups filled with the yummy flavored syrup sat on the counter for a week as crystals formed on the sticks. Everyday I heard, "When can we eat them? Are they ready yet?"
Waa-la!
Butterscotch & Root beer; they were so yummy!
