Summer Vacation 2014: Fish, Penguins & Some Really Big Teeth
After a fun filled three days visiting with the Strong's in Springville, we were on our way to Grantsville, UT to enjoy some time with Grandma Sue (and Grandpa Steve of course). But before we made it all the way to their house, they met us in Salt Lake at an aquarium that had recently opened.
By far my boys enjoyed this more than the girls. Not that my girls didn't enjoy it but Jacob was so enamored by all the fish, that were so big and swimming to close. He just couldn't get enough. And John has a natural affinity for animals, that we was in his element just sitting and watching the fish swim.
My personal favorite & I think the favorite of my girls was the penguins! I could have watched them for a really long time. The best was watching them walk right up to the water, with their little toes hanging over the edge of the ice, then backing away from the water only to do it again a few inched farther down. We were all cheering them on & felt so proud when they would finally take the plunge and jump in the water.
From the time we walked in Elizabeth wanted to check out the jaws/teeth of the Megaladon. Crazy to think that there once lived a shark with a mouth wide enough to fit our whole family in.
