Summer Vacation 2014: Cousins

Our summer vacation this year was a little different than years past.  No grand trips to Grandma & Grandpa's time share, instead we spent some fun filled days in Utah at the Strong bed and breakfast followed by more fun filled days at the Brown bed & breakfast.  The time share presentation lady would say we didn't have a "vacation", we went to "visit", but I beg to differ!

First stop: July 5th - Springville, UT

Early in the morning we met up with the Jessee's to take the oldest kids to the Timponogas Temple to perform baptisms for the dead.  It was a sweet experience to watch Elizabeth perform vicarious work for her ancestors.  And despite Paul & Chris struggling with some crazy Polish names, the Spirit was strong confirming to me that my deceased ancestors had accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Later that evening, it was great to see cousins playing together at Grandma & Grandpa's.  John found the irrigation ditch near the street especially fun.  He managed to round up a few others to explore the ditch; water is much more fun with a friend!

Before too long the noise & activity level was a bit much for the most mature Strong's, so us less mature loaded up the least mature & headed to a park to burn off some energy in the summer heat. Good times!

a prize to the first one to spot John & Tyler
a prize if you can name who we are missing

Growing up I never had cousins close to my age to play with at family gathering (I typically just hung out with mom, dad & the grown-ups; boring!), so I find in particularly enjoyable to see the fun my kiddos have making memories with their cousins
