Cousin Week
When it was time for our vacation to come to an end, it was just the beginning of a funfilled week of "cousin time" for my girls. Rachel and Sarah stayed behind at the Jessee's & in exchange we took Breanna home with us.
Elizabeth initially wasn't very excited to be spending her "cousin week" in Kingman, AZ this year. She has loved the last two summer's being at the Jessee's, but I assured her we would have fun. Breanna on the other hand was more than happy to come. The pressure was on, I couldn't disappoint!
Monday: Visited the old steam train & caboose followed by ice cream at the new ice cream parlor downtown. Oh I almost forgot about the amazing Monsoon that came through that evening leaving a river rushing down our street, the back yard flooded and the power out for 4 hours. We broke out the glow sticks and had a great time! Breanna was fascinated by the down poor of rain.
Tuesday: Bowling & a trip to In-n-Out for a Neapolitan shake!
Wednesday: I got a wild hair and we headed to the Grand Canyon! The kids were troopers; I think they saw more than they wanted of the Grand Canyon but I wanted to make the 3 hour one-way drive worth it.
Thursday: Played with water balloons in the back yard & went out for Frozen Yogurt.
Friday: I had planned to take the kids to Lake Havasu to see the London Bridge, but they decided it was too hot and they would rather go bowling again. No complaints by me; less driving & air conditioning!
Saturday: On our way to meet the Jessee's in Las Vegas we stopped off at the Hoover Dam & let the girls walk on "the Bridge". Oh, was it hot & windy! We went to the bridge first & the girls walked to the middle with Paul. Once we got down to the dam we showed Breanna where she just was. She said if she knew it was so high she doesn't think she would have gone.
I was exhausted by the time the week was over. It was all worth it when I heard Breanna say, "I don't want to go home! I love Arizona! I want to come here every summer!" I even think Elizabeth had a good time, even though she had to stay at home in Kingman for "cousin week".
