I Love to See the Temple . . .

On my wish list of things to do this trip to Utah was a visit to Temple Square in Salt Lake City.

We have been to Utah many times since we have moved back out west but rarely have we taken the time to show our kiddos some of the wonderful things that Utah has to offer.  So I was very thankful when things worked out to take the kiddos to see the Salt Lake Temple, the Conference Center & the Tabernacle; all very important and significant places for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I personally enjoyed visiting the Conference Center, seeing where General Conference is held twice a year.  As we left and were walking across the street to Temple Square, Rachel asked, "When can we come here for General Conference?"  I will be adding that to our list of things we want to do as a family.

To get some wiggles out, without being irreverent, we took the kiddos to the Church History Museum to experience their wonderful exhibit made especially for children.

The girls danced with these great big skirts. Sarah did not want to take hers off!
They took a ride on Nephi's boat and caught some fish.
And even had dinner with the missionaries, to name just a few of the fun, hands on things they enjoyed.

I love visiting Temple Square (any temple grounds really). The Temple is a special, sacred place.  It is the House of the Lord.  The temple is a little piece of Heaven here on earth. In the temple I feel so close to my Heavenly Father. Through sacred ordinances in the Temple my little family can be eternal, all families can!  I hope my kiddos were able to feel the spirit of this beautiful sacred place.  I hope being up close to a temple helped them gain a desire to want to go there someday.  I hope in time they will love the temple as much I do . . .

So thankful to be part of your temple visit and see it through the eyes of Elizabeth, Rachel, John, Sarah, and Jacob.
