Grandma's Jungle

While in Utah we paid a visit to the Brown's.  It had been far too long since we had been out to Grantsville to visit with Grandma Sue & Grandpa Steve. And I am so glad that we took the time to go.  The kids had such a wonderful time playing in their yard.  Compared to our barren desert backyard theirs seemed like a jungle.  The perfect place for 5 kiddos to climb, explore & take in the sights and smells of nature.

I have such fond memories as a child of climbing the tree in our backyard, so naturally I encouraged them to give tree climbing a try in this amazing tree.  They loved it! I always knew my girls were monkey at heart.

After swinging in the trees, Grandma showed my monkeys natures perfect hide-out . . . under their large pine tree.

My little band of monkeys attacked the snowball bush next! Grandma Sue was so patient as they picked, and picked the blossoms off of her beautiful bush; she basked in the curiosity of my children as they discovered something new. Actually I think she is the one who initiated picking the beautiful blooms.  She is fun like that you know...

As usual the girls held their little snowballs gently while John literally turned his into snow.  He crumbled his ball petal, by petal and watched them float to the ground covering the grass with a beautiful early summer snow.

Thank you Grandma for allowing these sweet curious monkeys to enjoy your jungle for an afternoon!

What a nice way to see my yard, through the eyes of children. It isn't all that I want it to be, but this makes me put my priorities in the right place. Snow balls dissolve, but children do not.
