A Mom Needs . . .

Sometimes as a Mom I feel very overwhelmed at what I need, want and am expected to do.  After a week of . . .

. . .clean laundry baskets lining the hallway for days beyond their washing. . .

. . .multiple failed attempts to make a sweet daughter the perfect birthday dessert. . .

 . . . finding a live scorpion in the house. . .

. . . toys strewn from one end of the living room to the other & the kids bathroom constantly smelling like pee, I began to compile a mental list of all the things that I felt I needed (or at least wished that I had. In no particular order):

laundress
personal chef
cleaning lady
accountant
chauffeur
in-house pest control person
tutor for the kiddos
money tree
gardener
personal trainer
diaper service that wipes bums & changes diapers
conflict resolution coach
doctor who makes house calls
interior decorator
daily hairstylist, and
nanny!

Then I could be the kind, patient, loving, fun, compassionate Mom that I dream about for my kiddos.  But alas, that is not the world I am blessed to live in.

In reality I didn't need any of those things, although they sure sound nice.  What I really needed was a kiddo to wrap their arms around my neck, leg or what ever body part they chose and say, "Mommy, I love you!"

Motherhood is a thankless profession, but one I would not trade for anything in the world!
Happy Mothers Day!

I hear you loud and clear. That is why we old ones are so gray haired.
