Teaching Our Children

As I was uploading pictures to the computer I came across these fabulous moments that I had almost forgotten about.

 

The thing that makes these moments so fabulous is not the adorable children, or the silly, fun things they are doing; but rather what is going on in the background, or should I say foreground and these moments are really the background.

General Conference!

 

I don't know that we will ever be a family that sits reverently on the couch, hanging on every word that the Lord's special witnesses say, so overcome with the spirit that our hearts are changed forever.

 

The reality is only a few of us lounge sit on the couch, hearing every other word as we doze off or play quietly with a kiddo. We feel the Spirit as long as we allow John to make a new floor covering out of toys.  Our hearts are changed forever due to all of the "junk" we indulged in as we attempted to keep the two days hassle free.   But we know that in time we will be blessed for teaching our children to make watching/listening to 8 hours of men & women wearing suits, speaking from a podium made from a walnut tree a priority!
