Oatman, AZ
Back in November, Grandma Sue came to visit. She had heard about this quirky little ghost town and asked if we could go and check it out. The town is nestled in the hills between Kingman & Bullhead City. It was a beautiful drive!
Welcome to Oatman, where the wild burrows come out of the hills and wander freely through the streets.
The burrows are not afraid of human folk, in fact they are extremely friendly and a little intrusive.
Being a real animal lover, Grandma Sue wanted a chance to feed the burrows a little snack . . . miniature hay bails that can be purchased at the local stores.
After watching her be swarmed with burrows I opted to stand back, laugh and let her have all of the fun.
It was a fun little adventure. Oatman was fun to see once, not sure it will be as fun the second time . . . unless I take the family so they can experience it . . . but I don't think they will have as much fun . . . they are not animals lovers and probably won't want to feed the burrows . . . after all watching Grandma Sue feed the burrows was my favorite part. I can still hear her telling the burrows they only could have one snack because she wanted to share with all of the burrows and squealing as the burrows didn't understand that concept. It reminded me a little of sea gulls at the beach.
Thanks Grandma Sue for coming to see us & for a memorable adventure!
