Heber Valley Camp

While we were in Utah we took a little time to go visit our two favorite missionaries, Elder & Sister Brown, better know as Grandpa Steve and Grandma Sue.  They have been severing for the last two summers at the Heber Valley Camp in Heber, UT (it is a girl's camp for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints).

As I have thought about what to share in this post I thought of several things which I believe are hard to capture with words: Going to church with them in the outdoors and singing for the closing hymn, "Called to Serve".  I listened more than I sang as I was overcome with emotion hearing these faithful senior couples sing that "missionary anthem" after just hearing many of them share their testimonies of sacrifice, blessings, miracles & service.  After church we enjoyed a peaceful picnic & stroll around the lake where Grandma & Grandpa spend each day.

I think the Camp's theme song sums up our day together the best:

I feel my Savior's love
In all the world around me.
His Spirit warms my soul
Through everything I see.
He knows I will follow him,
Give all my life to him.
I feel my Savior's love,
The love he freely gives me.

Thank you Elder & Sister Brown
for letting us experience "the mountain".
