Backyard Makeover: Part 5

Despite the absence of updates on our back yard we  Paul has been working hard.  Last fall we toyed with the idea of letting a landscaper finish the project.  We met with one several times but he drug his feet in getting us a quote & wasn't too interested in doing things in stages . . . so  by the time we did get the quote we decided we would keep with plan A and do things ourselves.

We had cement poured for a sidewalk/riding track.

The kids LOVE it!

Paul built a beautiful bridge to complete the loop of the track.

Paul worked hard to tackle the task of putting in an irrigation system.  We've had 100 feet of cement curbing poured, boulders trucked in, 20 tons of sand delivered, the retaining wall modified and dirt moved around some more.  My personnel favorite (I think every one's) addition is grass!  We invited a couple of families over for a sod laying party which made the job go much faster.  We have been watering and watering to get the sod to root.  Success!

It is hard to believe that two years ago our yard looked like this . . .

. . . and now this is my view out the back window!

Thanks to Paul's hard work we have a beautiful, fun and safe place for our kids to play and a beautiful place for our family to enjoy together.

What a great backyard, the cement loop is the greatest. My boys would live on that with their scooters.
