1st Haircut
For about the last week I have observed Jacob's hair getting thinner and thinner, in sort of a horseshoe around his head, with lots remaining in the back and on top. The top reminded me the reverse of an old man's comb over; lots on top combed over to hide the baldness below.
I decided it was time for a haircut to even things out a bit. As I gathered all the necessary supplies; clippers, bathtub, Jacob, and camera, Elizabeth kept asking me to please not shave him bald like we did with John when he was about this age. I told her not to worry, Jacob had more hair and it was too dark to do that.
I thought it was pretty ingenious of me to set him in the baby bath for his haircut, no water of course. It kept him relatively still & upright, and the best part the hair mess was contained. Jacob tolerated the noisy clippers pretty well. At first I cut it all with the 3/4 inch guard but it still looked a little comb-overish so we did it again with the 1/2 inch . . . a little shorter than I wanted but looks much more even.
The girls say he looks older, but I think still super cute.
