While Mom & Dad Work . . .
One of the great blessings of my children is that they are easily entertained. While Paul and I were busy sweating away moving retaining wall brick into place I looked up to see this:
I think it all started with filling the water table but I have a feeling once the water table was full of water and then rocks John was looking to move on to something more adventuresome.
To my surprise and delight even Rachel got in on the action. She usually stays clear of the mud when it touches anything other than her shovel and bucket, but as you can tell she was not so timid this time.
By far Sarah is the bravest, or craziest of the bunch. She couldn't have just her feet in the mud hole, she had to see if her whole body would fit.
It does a mother's heart good to see her children playing, outside and enjoying each other. Not sure how much Elizabeth enjoyed this part . . . I think John and Rachel were ganging up on her.
But I never heard anything but happy squeals and laughter out of the four kiddos. Music to my ears!
John + water + Sarah + dirt = only one thing, MUD!
Mud + my kiddos = LOTS of FUN!
