Rachel's Special Day
We had a wonderful event happen in our family a few weekends ago.
On March 24th Rachel was baptized! We had many extended family members travel to Kingman to be here to share this day with Rachel. (Thank you all for coming!)
Rachel was very excited about being baptized. She approached this big step in her life with a confidence that isn't always evident in her personality and with the humility that displayed her love and desire to please Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I think Rachel has a real spiritual gift - the gift of Faith - a faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is apparent to me as her mother that this faith allows her to internalize things of a spiritual nature on a different level than the average child.
I could see this faith alive and growing in her eyes and smile on the day of her baptism.
She received a journal from her Primary teacher after she was baptized. I suggested to her that it would be a good idea to write what you remember or how you felt at your baptism. This is what she wrote, "It was my baptism. When I was baptized I felt happy." So simple, so sweet.

It is a blessing to see Rachel gaining a testimony of her own; see her have a desire for righteousness in her life and choose to follow our Savior.
