Backyard Makeover: Part 2
Last week our kids enjoyed a week off of school for Spring Break. I was just getting out of the shower when Sarah comes walking in the bathroom asking me where her "long neck" was. That's a dinosaur for those who don't know. I had seen it out on the patio the day before, so with just a towel wrapped around me for clothing I opened the door in my bedroom that leads onto the patio, only to take one step out and then come immediately back in as fast as I could. I had totally forgotten that we were having "worker men" in our backyard early that morning to complete the next phase of our backyard makeover. Thank goodness there was just one of them and he hadn't even noticed I was there.
I quickly dressed and sent the kids to the kitchen window where we pulled up the blinds so they could watch the action.
It is not everyday that there is such a cool science lesson to be learned right in our own backyard. The kids were fascinated watching the gloppy stuff slide out of the cement truck.

And now we have some beautiful stairs! Although it is still faster and easier to just walk or run up and down the dirt hill. But someday we won't be able to do that anymore and these stairs will be wonderful.
