Pumpkins & Trick-or-Treat

Halloween is always a fun holiday. . .

a time to play in slimy pumpkin guts,

and create a sculpted masterpiece out of an over sized vegetable.

And for a few hours you get to be whoever or whatever you want to be.

This year Rachel wanted to be a fairy, John-Thomas the Tank Engine, Sarah-a lady bug, and Elizabeth-Queen Lucy.

as they wait  until Mom says it is time to go Trick-or-Treating.

This year the kiddos were able to dress up and get candy two times, double the fun.  Once on Saturday for a Trunk-or-Treat at church, and then again on Halloween to Trick-or-Treat around the neighborhood.  Our kiddos don't ever remember being able to trick-or-treat in a neighborhood.  They loved it.  There was one house that scared them a little because of the spooky music it played.  As we went to the house next to the "scary house" Sarah kept saying, "The lady bug doesn't like scary houses."  I assured her that we would only go to the  "happy houses".  They each had a wonderful time. As we walked in between houses the kids enjoyed looking up into the beautiful clear night sky and seeing a million stars.  (Combine a desert sky and no street lights in our neighborhood and you really can see a million stars. It's beautiful!)

Now we have more candy than any of us need. But if I know my family it will all be eaten and enjoyed!
