Thank you Grandma & Grandpa
One of the biggest reasons we wanted to move west was be closer to our extended family so our kids could have a chance to get to know their Grandparents and cousins and to be a part of each others' lives. This goal has already been accomplished. In fact it didn't take long for Paul's parents to arrange a little get-a-way in Las Vegas at their time share so all of the Strong siblings and grandchildren could be together. Just two days after we arrived in Kingman, Grandma & Grandpa Strong were our very first visitors. We were all excited to see them and they kindly took our kiddos for the night. (We worked really hard cleaning our house while the kids were away).
We joined them in Las Vegas where we were able to enjoy a relaxing visit with Paul's family. We met the two newest additions to the Strong family, got to know the personalities of the nieces and nephews, celebrated a couple birthdays, visited with the adults, swam in the pool (Everyone but me. I unfortunately brought a little of Kentucky with me out west, poison ivy, and it itched like crazy after going swimming), and just enjoyed being with everyone.
Paul's siblings wanted to come and see our new house, so we caravaned out to Kingman and let 13 kids under the age of 11 run wild in our empty house. Vaulted ceilings + ceramic tile + empty house + 13 kids = noise. But it was so much fun to have them visit, let the cousins play, visit with the ladies and let the guys do . . . what ever guys do. We were a brave bunch of parents and invaded the local Chili's restaurant. I was amazed that they were able to accommodate such a large group. The service was very slow, but thanks to my little bag of tricks (John's backpack of "sensory" toys for our travels) the kids did fabulous.

Thank you Doug and MarJean for making this little weekend get together happen! We have missed you all so much and are happy to be less than a days drive away.

We would love to get to visit with the cousins and you guys... It looks to be just about a 4 hour drive from Phelan to Kingman :)
