All Rocks And No Water . . .
One of John's favorite things to do is to throw rocks. And his favorite place to throw them is into any body of water he can find. He loves that our front yard is full of rocks, but doesn't love that his Momma won't let him throw them all over the drive-way. Our backyard has plenty of rocks too, but he gets tired of the tiny water table after awhile. The poor boy is itching to throw rocks!
Several weekends ago we found ourselves with a free Saturday and needing a break from organizing, painting and settling into our new house and needing to help John fill his need to throw rocks. . . . So we headed to Bullhead City to see if we could find a place along the Colorado River where John could get his rock throwing fix.
It was a wonderful place where John could throw rocks 'til his hearts content. The girls played in the sand, collected rocks and waded in the water. Next time I think we will go prepared with our bathing suits.
After the girls had had enough of the water, we walked across the parking lot to "the funnest playground we've ever been to." (quote from Elizabeth and Rachel). It was a good way for them to let their clothes dry before we headed to Target. And a good way to pass the time while the boys threw rocks in the river for another hour!
