Happy Father's Day!

When Paul & I were dating one of the reasons I knew that I wanted to marry him was I knew he would be a wonderful father to our children.  He has proven to be just that!  Before we began to eat Paul's Father's Day dinner this afternoon I asked each of the kids why they loved their Daddy.  Here are their responses:

Elizabeth:  He plays Legos with me
John:  He plays bean bags with me
Sarah:  He likes to eat chips
Rachel: He plays bean bags

I should probably explain this bean bag thing.  Part of John's sensory diet activities is catching bean bags and throwing the bean bags at a target.  It has evolved from a simple bean bag toss to a melodramatic war with bean bags.  And we have learned that Paul has a hidden talent of being a great actor, and the kids think he is soooo funny.

Paul is a wonderful father because he is very patient and kind and is able to bring humor to those trying parenting moments.  When he walks in the door from work he happily resumes his second full-time job as a Dad to our four beautiful children.  He loves to have fun and play with the kids.  He willingly does the dishes every night, helps bathe the kids, tucks John into bed and can tell an amazing bed time story.

Our family would not be what it is without Paul.  Thank you Paul for all you do to fulfill your role as Father of our home and Daddy to our children.

Paul's Father's day dinner; 7 layer bean dip.
The olives spell "Happy Dad's Day", that was Elizabeth & Rachel's idea.

Happy Fathers Day Paul.... you are a great dad!
Do you know where the love of Legos comes from??
Paul's dad, also played legos with his children. Somewhere in the attic are classic red & white legos purchases in 1973.
This world could use more caring fathers like Paul.
