Happy Birthday Pinkalicious!
Yesterday we celebrated a birthday at our house; the 3rd birthday for my fun loving, mischievous, independent little girl Sarah, aka Pinkalicious.
She has been looking forward to her birthday for several weeks. And of course the little girl who loves pink and will walk around the house telling you she is Pinkalicious would choose to have nothing else but Pinkalicious cupcakes for her birthday. Don't worry, she stopped eating cupcakes before she turned pink. If you don't know what I am talking about then you need to go read the book Pinkalicious by Victoria Kann.
I love the picture above . . . do you see John's little face on the left side trying to bow out the candles. He did too! I don't know that Sarah ever noticed but her sisters did so we had to re-light the candles so Sarah could be one to blow them out.
Normally we have cake and ice cream and then open presents, it flows better that way. We made an exception this time. While John and Sarah were taking naps, I had gotten everything ready for the "party" and then Paul, the older girls and I went outside to enjoy the beautiful spring like weather. When we came back in, Sarah was awake and had found her stack of presents on the living room table. She had taken two of them into her room and had begun to open them. Why fight it . . . what 3 year old could resist a pile of presents that they know is for them and there is no one around to tell them no?
She was a very happy little girl, with lots of pink things. A pink bunny pillow pet, a pink Strawberry Shortcake blanket, Strawberry Shortcake toys . . .
. . . and of course a Pinkalicious dress! The dress has hardly been off of her since she got it. And she is excited to get to use some birthday money to buy Pinkalicious shoes and the matching cupcake purse!
