Christmas Day in the Snow!

The kids usually like to spend Christmas day in their PJ's, but this year they made an exception. (Thanks Grandma Sue for the snow clothes, they came just in time!)

Once everyone was all dressed for the snow we headed over to the neighbors yard to have some fun.

Elizabeth was the lucky one who got to put the first tracks in the clean untouched snow.  I think Elizabeth would sled all day if we let her.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun John had and that he was brave enough to want to go down the hill all by himself.  That open mouth is a sign of squeals and laughter.  He even enjoyed pulling the sled up the hill.

Sarah was reluctant to give it a try, because a week ago when we went sledding when she went down with one of her sisters they were "spilled" out of the sled when it came to a stop at the bottom of the hill.  Too bad she and Paul hit a bump and were dumped out onto their bottoms half way down.

Needless to say she spent the rest  of the outing making snow angels.

After some coaxing and some insistence, Rachel reluctantly went down the hill with me.  But she enjoyed every minute of it.

John and Elizabeth wanted to try out the snow in the backyard too.  They all really wanted to make a snow man, but it just wouldn't work - too powdery.  It was a real treat to enjoy a "white Chirstmas."
