Preschool Farm Day
Yesterday was "Farm Day" at John's preschool. Sarah and I went to join in on the fun by watching John and his class participate in all of the farm activities.
John drove a tractor! A little pedal tractor. It is the only kind he will get close too, the real ones scare him.
He planted a seed in a cup. I was surprised how well he filled his cup with potting soil without flinging it all over the place.
But John's favorite part was seeing the animals. They had a goat, turkey, pony and chickens for the kids to pet. John said the chickens were his very favorite.

Each of the kids made a mud pie! Complete with acorns as decorations.

John is so cute when he gets around animals. He will get nose to nose with them (or as close as he can) and begin talking to them. You generally can't understand what he says but it is obvious that he is trying to have a conversation with the animal. And he loves to pick up objects off of the ground (rocks, stick, leaves, grass) and try to feed them to the animal all the while still talking to them.
To a lot of the kids in John's school, seeing all of these "farm" things is no big deal because they live on a "farm". But to my little guy it was so much fun!
