Our Little Athlete

For the last two years Elizabeth has played soccer (she's not his year) and each year Rachel has said that she wanted to play.   But as soon as we let her know that Mom and Dad would not be on the field with her she changed her mind.  When they sent home a paper from school this year about soccer sign-ups she said she wanted to play, and she still wanted to play even without Mom or Dad there by her side.  She has gained a lot of confidence over the last year and I thought lets give this a try. And I am so glad that we did!

She is the one on the  left running.

She is loving it.  I am amazed at how she manages to continually stay up with the little beehive of kids that surround the ball without ever seeming tired or out of breath.  The whole time that she is playing there is a smile on her face.  And with each game she is improving and gaining more and  more confidence to try to get the ball.

Today she got to play goalie for one of the quarters and even stopped the ball a couple of times.  She also was able to dribble the ball down half the field (I don't know where everyone else was) to try to score a goal. I'm glad there are several more game sin the season and so is Rachel!
