First day of Preschool

Yesterday was John's first day of school.

When Paul was tucking him into bed on Wednesday night he was talking to John about getting to go to school the next day, John giggled with excitement.  So much excitement that he was still up at nearly 10pm.  I finally went in his room and told him he wouldn't get to go school if he didn't go to sleep.  I think all he heard was that he wouldn't get to go to school, because he got real still and started to cry.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that he remembered the "routine" of arriving at school and hanging up his backpack, etc.  As we walked in the school he went right over to where his cubby was last year and began to hang up his backpack, seeing that the cubbies didn't have names in them yet I had to convince him to keep his backpack on and just go in the classroom.

Two of his three teachers are the same as he has had for the last two years of preschool, so I know he is in good hands.  I am anxious to see how he does this year being with kids his own age.  Despite all the crazy things he does and the grey hairs he has given me, I love my little guy and hope and pray that we see great progress this year!

Glad to know that he was not scared to go back to school! What a big boy!
