Dancing in the Rain

We have had several days of rain, rain, rain, and more rain.  Paul said he heard that we had received 6 inches of rain in two days.  With that much rain you can imagine the couped up energy from a 2 year old and 4 year old.  So I had the bright idea to have us all walk to the mail box with the umbrella . . . sounded fun to me.  We got our shoes on and headed out the door, but my plans were quickly changed when John discovered the puddle in the drive-way.  I decided this is one of things not worth fighting over so I walked with my umbrella to the mailbox alone, while John and Sarah threw rocks into the puddle.  Lest you think I am crazy to let my kids play in the rain in shorts, sandals and no jackets, be assured it was not cold or the least bit chilly but instead a muggy 90 degrees.

It didn't take long for their rock throwing to turn into puddle jumping!

I have a saying that hangs in my bedroom that says, "Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass. . . it's about learning to dance in the rain".  This last week we danced in the rain and had so much FUN!

What fun to play in the puddles! John loves water... I remember walking down the Provo River Walk and all he wanted to do was throw rocks!
