Making Memories . . .
Next stop on our vacation was Grantsville, UT. It was not a stop but rather a destination! We were all excited to welcome home Grandma Sue & Grandpam Steve from their 18 month mission to Argentina.
The kids loved being at Grandma & "Pa Pa's house" (A quote from Sarah). I enjoyed just watching the kids be with their grandparents and enjoy making memories at their house. This was a real treat since we don't get to go to a Grandparents house very often, like never!
All of the kids, but especially Rachel and Sarah fell in love with their swing on the screened in porch. They would swing and sing at the top of their lungs, "Go Diego Go" and songs from High School Musical.
The kids each took a turn feeding the neighbors horses that are being boarded in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard. For living in the state known for horses you would never think that this was the first time my kids were able to be so up close and personal with a horse. And they loved every minute of it!
By far John's favorite activity was throwing rocks in their little pond/waterfall. They had worked so hard to clean it and it was beautiful. John threw in so many rocks and dirt clods that it was more dirt than water by the time we left. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for being patient with our little boy. He still asks almost daily to "go to Grandma's and throw rock in the pond".
The kids enjoyed Grandma's "prize" box and her box of dress up things. Sarah fell in love with a pair of high healed ruby slippers (she never would cooperate for a picture). The kids were treated to a "tea party" dinner while Paul and I went to the Temple. We all enjoyed Grandpa's firework show to celebrate the 4th of July. And of course looking at pictures from their mission. It was a treasured visit full of very fun memories!
