Who Would Have Ever Thought?
I can remember being in Elementary school and the pain and anxiety that I felt when given a writing assignment. What was I going to write? The grammar was terrible and the spelling was worse. I was always filled with embarrassment at the thought of someone other than the teacher reading my assignment. As time went on things got a little better, but there was always a great amount of effort that had to be exerted to complete any writing assignment. And there was never any amount of enjoyment involved in the task.
So who would have ever thought that I would choose to become an author and actually publish a book? OK, it isn't quite as glamorous as it sounds but it is all true.
As I took down the calendar for 2009 and hung up the new one for 2010, I decided I wanted to see what I could do to have my blog posts for 2009 made into a hard copy edition to file away for my posterity. After doing some searching on the Internet and a bit of editing I was able to make this wish a reality.

I don't know that my writing has improved over the years, but thanks to computers with spell check and grammar check no one has to know about my lack of English Compositions skills. When my book arrived in the mail the only anxiety I felt was to hurry up and open it, so I could look at my beautifully published labor of love. And the embarrassment of having my writing read by others has faded, perhaps due to the change in purpose of the writing or simply because my life is now an open book!
