She Does It Again . . .

Today was the 2nd grade subtraction bee at Elizabeth's school. We've practiced and practiced those math facts, so I knew Elizabeth would do well. She participated in the speed test; they get a sheet full of math problems and are supposed to answer as many as they can in 2 minutes.

To my delight when they read off the winners, Elizabeth came in 3rd place. She answered 42 problems in two minutes.

It was rather sweet to see her go up and receive her trophy. She is so humble about her success.

This is one of those proud Mommy moments, where I sit back and smile and think to myself, "Hey, that's my daughter!"


Way to go Lizzy Lou!

  Grateful for milestones that bring family together...Last Saturday my brothers and I gathered to celebrate our Dad's 80th birthday!!! After 80 years on earth my Dad's body continues to be strong (mostly) while his memory continues to fade. For a man who is a planner and organizer he struggles to live in the moment and be content...I guess when you don't have current memories to reflect on, you dream and imagine your future.   There are moments in life when you realize just how blessed you are... celebrating my mom's 80th birthday recently was one of those moments!! Over the years we have moved away from one another, haven't always stayed in close contact with everyone but being together I felt the love that comes from being family! To my mom family is everything and it is her love for us individually that radiates and unites those around her! My mom is a little energizer bunny sharing, serving, living, loving, experiencing, adventureing and enjoying every moment of every day! She definitely is not 80 years old but 80 years loved!!!
