It's Cookie Time!

Girl Scout cookie time is a busy time at the Strong home. Elizabeth & Rachel were both selling cookies this year. Once the cookies came the girls were very anxious to "sort" out the cookies and were actually big helpers to get the job done.

Elizabeth read the order sheets,

Rachel filled the orders from the cases of cookies.

The girls enjoyed selling, sorting and delivering the cookies; but their favorite part is getting to EAT the cookies.

Have you ever noticed that Girl Scout cookies are magic!!! I have observed that people instantly smile when they hear the words Girl Scout cookies. And even more magical is how the smile grows when they have a box of them in their hands, and a cookie in their mouth. Have you ever known a box of Girl Scout Cookies to go stale in the cupboard? No, because they usually don't even make it to the cupboard.

So does the magic come because they only come around once a year? Or is there magic sprinkled into the box? Does the magic come from the cookie itself? Or does it come from the cute girls that deliver the cookies?

Probably a little bit of each. Be it known that I am raising a family that LOVES Girl Scout cookies!

I remember selling cookies... it was always fun. Of course we all love to eat them, although every year I have to figure out which ones I like since they changed the names of them.

  Grateful for milestones that bring family together...Last Saturday my brothers and I gathered to celebrate our Dad's 80th birthday!!! After 80 years on earth my Dad's body continues to be strong (mostly) while his memory continues to fade. For a man who is a planner and organizer he struggles to live in the moment and be content...I guess when you don't have current memories to reflect on, you dream and imagine your future. Inspite of his current reality we enjoyed a few hours celebrating together, laughing, sharing and watching him relive his glory days with near clarity. 80 Years Loved

  There are moments in life when you realize just how blessed you are... celebrating my mom's 80th birthday recently was one of those moments!! Over the years we have moved away from one another, haven't always stayed in close contact with everyone but being together I felt the love that comes from being family! To my mom family is everything and it is her love for us individually that radiates and unites those around her! My mom is a little energizer bunny sharing, serving, living, loving, experiencing, adventureing and enjoying every moment of every day! She definitely is not 80 years old but 80 years loved!!! And on her way to many more!!   Feeling all the feels today as we send Rachel on her way to serve the Lord as one of His full-time missionaries for the next 18 months, sharing His love and the message of His restored gospel to the people in the Ohio Columbus Mission!!!
