Welcoming in the Season

Last Friday night our family along with the rest of our town & county welcomed in the Christmas Season with the annual Christmas Parade. Elizabeth, Rachel and I rode in the parade with our Girl Scout troop; while Paul, John & Sarah enjoyed the festivities curb side.

To top off the welcoming in of the Christmas season we woke up Saturday morning to SNOW!

Unlike most of the people here, we love having white fluffy stuff on the ground. We figure the more the better. The kids could hardly wait to get out and play. So before breakfast they got all bundled up and put tracks all over the yard.

When I walked out the back door I was greeted by John telling me, "I eat snow!"

By his excitement you would have thought he was getting to eat candy for breakfast.

Elizabeth so badly wanted to make a snow man. She tried and tried and tried to get that snow to pack together, Mom and Dad even tried to help.

But alas the snow was too powdery. But she did not give up!

She built the worlds smallest snow man . . and he was so cute!

Sarah just wanted to follow me around in hopes that I would pick her up.

Rachel didn't last too long outside, it was too cold. (She is our fair weather girl).

When it was all said and done we had tracked snow through the house, had a few frozen fingers, little red noses, transformed the bathroom into a mudroom. . .

. . .had smiles on our faces, and the warmth of the Christmas season in our hearts.
