It's All About The Candy

Take this pile of candy and times it by four and this is what we came home with from trick-or-treating. And now Paul & I are having to muster all the self control we have not to dig in and eat and eat and eat. Not to mention keep it out of reach of the kids. We were each blessed (or cursed) with a BIG sweet tooth. You know there is such thing as too much of a good thing.

The kids had a great time on Halloween night dressing up and getting candy.

For those who may be wondering, Sarah was a monkey, Elizabeth was Gabriella (from High School Musical), John was our little king, and Rachel wass strutting her stuff as Sharpay (also from High School Musical).

Each year Elizabeth and Rachel ask Paul and I to dress up, usually as we are about to head out the door. So last year I paid a visit to the Halloween clearance isle and picked up a few things. So this year when Elizabeth asked if Mommy and Daddy would dress up too, we were prepared.

I teased the kids that I was letting my true colors show on Halloween . . . by going as a witch (I should have painted my face green and put wings on Sarah's monkey costume). My date for the evening was a Harlem Glode Trodder wannabe. Paul received a lot of stares and a few giggles.

On the way to school this morning Elizabeth wanted to know how Halloween started. Why we dress-up? Why all of the candy? So now I need to search the Internet to satisfy the curiosity of the 7 year old whose favorite holiday is Halloween. It is her favorite holiday because of all the candy. . . of course!
