Labor Day Weekend Painting Project

We've been waiting for paint to go on sale again, so we could start the next phase of our re-painting the house. Labor day weekend here we come!! Such good timing too, because Paul had Monday off work to finish up.

John and Sarah were the lucky recipients this time. We rearranged sleeping quarters for the weekend and set to work. We learned a few things from our last adventure to make this one go smoother . Of course the big girls wanted to help, and Paul is a great Dad to hand them each a brush to dip into the dark blue paint.

We had planned to do a "dragging" faux finish over the blue, and almost didn't because we liked how the blue looked so well. But the more I looked at the dark blue walls I began to feel sea sick.

We had a gate across the bedroom doorway to keep little curious bodies, and fingers out of the fresh paint. It was so cute to watch John and Sarah stand at the gate and look into their room. They wanted so badly to help and to just see their "new room". They both seem to really like the "new room". Liz says she liked the plain blue better. Rachel says she really likes it. As for Paul and I, we love it!

When I am in their room I feel like I should be in a cabin in the mountains surrounded by pine trees. Or looking out the window at the ocean waves crashing with the windows open so I can smell the salty air. (Is it the paint fumes or do I need a vacation?)

Paul likes the final look so much that he wants to try a faux finish in our room too!
