A Perfect Season
Have you ever had one of those times when you read something and a principle that you have been taught over and over again finally sinks in? That is what happened to me the other day as I was desperate for 5 minutes to myself. I was taking care of business on the toilet & reading while John & Sarah were emptying all the vanity drawers, (I have to let them in the bathroom with me or they get into trouble. At least if they are with me I can see what they are doing).
I was reading a story about a girl who was sharing what she learned about the gospel from playing softball. About her team's perfect season she said:

"A perfect season is not perfect. In a perfect season, you still strike out. You still get home runs hit off of you. But it's the final outcome, how you respond and come back, that makes the end result a win. Even when you personally had a bad game, you still have a team behind you and can pull out a win.
For someone who doesn't play sports it is amazing that this example hit home so well of the lesson on trying to be perfect like the Savior.
"We strive to be perfect, and we may be doing everything in our power, but sometimes it's just not enough. We can't do it by ourselves. We need the Savior to help us."
I needed that reminder; I cannot be a one woman team as I go about my duties of being a wife and mother. But instead there are many members on my team, who are there to help win the game, most importantly the Savior.
