Run for the Roses

The first Saturday of May is a special day in the state of Kentucky. It is Derby Day! The day of the most popular horse race, the Kentucky Derby. And at Rachel's preschool they had a derby of their own to celebrate. Each child had to bring a homemade stick horse to ride in the "derby". To complete the whole derby experience, at school they made derby hats.

Rachel was a bit camera shy.

Waiting for the race to begin.

"And away they go!"
Rachel was a little scared by the whole experience, but one of her wonderful teachers ran in the race with her.
